About the National Information Sharing and Analysis Center (N-ISAC)

The National Information and Communication Security Taskforce (NICST) have started to promote the establishment of Information Sharing and Analysis Center (ISAC) since 2008. Government Information Sharing and Analysis Center (G-ISAC) was established in 2009. Through the system automation and information standardization of the information sharing process, the information can be organized, integrated and distributed more efficiently and effectively, giving the members more time to respond and handle the security incidents.

The Executive Yuan defined 8 critical infrastructure sectors in 2014 and planned to enhance the mechanism of critical information infrastructure protection. In order to develop the partnership among critical infrastructure sectors, the information sharing and analyzing capabilities were expanded progressively. Therefore, the National Information Sharing and Analysis Center (N-ISAC) was operated in 2017.

The information sharing format of N-ISAC bases on Structured Threat Information Expression (STIX) and Trusted Automated eXchange of Indicator Information (TAXII). There are two methods of the information sharing, one is by Web Page Input and the other is by Web Services API. To ensure information transmitting process is safe, both methods are using Hypertext Transfer Protocol over Secure Socket Layer (HTTPS) protocol, and all N-ISAC members are given a specific certificate in order to access N-ISAC website.

Nowadays N-ISAC is the largest information sharing networks between public and private sectors in Taiwan. Focuses on reducing response time through improved coordination and collaboration capabilities and improving the efficiency of cybersecurity protection.
